Family Breakdown

The Parenting Children Course (0-10 years old) and The Parenting Teenagers Course (11-18 years old) has been run by local community groups in a number of Australian prisons. These two courses can be run for any parents, step-parents, prospective parents or carers of children/teenagers. Although we have seen the course work in a prison setting we would encourage anyone who is interested in running it in others settings that serve and support marginalised and disadvantaged Australians (e.g. teenage parents, rehab centres, community drop in centres).

Why do the course?

  • Children/teenagers do not arrive with an instruction manual
  • No role we undertake is more important than parenting

Family life is under great pressure today and parents face bewildering choices about how to parent effectively. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. We can all learn how to make even the happiest family better.
