Caring For Ex-Offenders Training Queensland

What is Caring for Ex-Offenders?

Caring for Ex-Offenders is a framework, used by hundreds of communities around Australia and the world, to walk alongside and provide mentoring and support for those coming out of prison. Caring for Ex-Offenders has a track record of reducing recidivism.

What is involved in the training?

This training aims to equip those who work with or would like to work with ex-offenders (or those at risk of offending) in their church/community. The training event is also a great opportunity to explore whether you could get involved in this program. The training is beneficial for church/community leaders, those heading up the program in their church/community, those looking to be mentors and those just looking at how to get involved.

The training focuses on:

    • Where to start, risk management and practicalities of supporting ex-offenders
    • Interactive sessions, time for Q&A and real life case studies
    • Opportunities to meet others involved in this area and support each other
    • How to be an effective mentor for those coming out of prison
